Discovering Ancient Egypt

Our first theme this academic year was Wonders of the World, where we studied the ancient wonders as well as some of the modern wonders. For our half term trip we focussed in on Ancient Egypt by visiting the World Museum in Liverpool, where we learnt more about the only ancient wonder that still exists today - the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Students had already been learning about the civilisation that lived at the time of the pyramids being built, and we were able to gain more knowledge and understanding of these people by looking at the exhibitions in the museum. The thousands of artefacts on display taught us about burial practices, royal clothing, and the way people lived, worked and played in Ancient Egypt.
