Vision
Our vision is to ensure that pupils leave school with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed choices about their future learning and work.

We believe that through respect, integrity, nurture and unity that our high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CIEAG) empowers young pupil to thrive in a rapidly changing world, raises aspirations and helps to achieve their full potential and excellence.

Careers education is not an isolated programme but a golden thread that runs throughout the culture, curriculum and experiences in school.  Careers Education and Guidance not only contributes to the well-being of individuals, but also the wellbeing of their families, the communities to which they belong, the wider society, business and economy.

Intent

  • To embed careers education across the school ensuring that students progressively build listening, speaking, problem solving, creativity, adaptability, planning, leadership and team working skills which are valued by employers, further and higher education providers and apprenticeship routes.

  • To provide every student with meaningful encounters with employers, further and hight education, and apprenticeship providers, preparing them for a range of ambitions pathways.

  • To celebrate and promote all progression routes equally, fostering a culture of aspiration, inclusion, and opportunity for all, including those with SEND.

  • To use labour market information to raise awareness of current and future opportunities both locally and nationally, so that students and their families can make informed decisions.

  • To equip teachers and staff with the tools and confidence to link their subject learning to real-world careers, making the curriculum relevant and engaging.

  • To work in partnership with. Parents, carers, governors, local employers and community partners to create a sustainable and impactful careers programme.

  • To evaluate our provision regularly against the Gatsby Benchmarks ensuring continuous improvement and measurable impact on student outcomes.

Our ultimate goal is that by the time pupils leave our school they are ambitious, well-informed, and confident to take their next steps, whether into further education, training, apprenticeships, or employment with a clear sense of purpose and possibility.
