Let’s Get Baking! (example blog)

Hi guys,

Now I know some of you don’t like baking, or at least ‘say’ you don’t like baking! But I thought I’d just share what I did with the kids this week. Maybe it’ll inspire you to get your aprons out.

As you probably know, I can’t eat gluten or dairy without looking 8 months pregnant! So we had a go at this gluten free banana bread recipe I found on the Tesco website. We made it dairy free by swapping out the butter for vegan spread.

You can find the recipe here:

Now it was really quite simple to do. I had to be super organised and weigh it all out into different bowls before we got started (baking with two little ones can get a bit erm.. stressful!). But they enjoyed themselves and seemed to appreciate the finished product. I thought it might have been slightly undercooked so will give it another go cooking for longer and see if it turns out any firmer. But overall, it was very tasty. As well as being a good way to entertain ourselves for an hour or so.

You obviously wouldn’t have to bake this exact recipe, although give it a go by all means. Why not have a browse through the BBC Good Food website? I always find it really helpful because the recipes have ratings for both how easy they are as well as whether people thought they were any good.

Please remember, DO NOT go out just to buy baking ingredients. Why don’t you have a look in the cupboards and see what you’ve already got in? And add anything extra to the weekly shopping list?

Let me know how you get on and send me some pictures!

Now I’m going to have to think of something tasty for next week. Lemon drizzle cake comes to mind..

Speak soon,

Danielle.
